Jack Dower was born 1919, Falmouth, Cornwall, England; the son of John Dower and Ada Maud Spargo. Raised and educated in Hartford, Connecticut, he entered the U.S. Army in June 1943. James Ivall was a grandson of Alexander “Sandy” Ival (1831-1911), who emigrated from Scotland to Canada in about 1837 and had ten children. Arthur Pearse Dicksee

Awarded the Freedom of the City of London in 1915, Arthur served in the RE during WW1. After the war he became a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers. Born and married in London, he moved to Yorkshire in 1920 (possibly for work reasons) where he died in 1931. He was buried in Redcar Cemetery.
