Captured at Bullecourt, 21st March 1918 when most of the battalion were captured. Held in a German Prisoner of War camp until the end of the war. William was an unmarried Private with the Royal Lancaster Regiment serving in the Channel Islands in 1911, and was a Private with the same Regiment when he died.
