Support for participants The Guild will support participants in the Members’ Websites Program The Guild of One-Name Studies wishes to encourage and support its members as far as possible in creating, uploading and maintaining their one-name study websites on this Guild hosting facility. Such support directly promotes the Guild’s main objectives: a) to advance the education of the public in one-name studies, this being defined for purpose of this Constitution as research into the genealogy and family history of all persons with the same surname and its variants, b) to promote the preservation and publication of the resultant data, and to maximise its accessibility to interested members of the public. Support tailored to members’ needs A large library of Support pages has been created to help members to set up a website or transfer their existing websites to the Members’ Websites Program(MWP). The Support pages are part of the Guild Wiki and can be viewed (by Members only) here. There are also members who have volunteered to help you in this task. One of these members will be designated as your guide through the process of transferring or creating a one-name study website at this MWP facility. In order to tailor the support to your needs, we invite participants to use the MWP Self-help tool to help them determine what their needs are and what sort of website they might have. The Self-help tool can be viewed (by Members only) here.
