Bert’s parents were Henry Percy and Eliza Greathead née Hunt both born in England. They married on 3 March 1889 and in April they set off on the Steam Ship Lusitania in April 1889 on an unassisted passage arriving in Sydney on 4 May 1889 to set up home in Australia. William Edward R Greathead was born in 1895 in Drummoyne, New South Wales, Australia. He was the fourth son of Robert J Greathead and Ruth Darwin Rowley. He enlisted as Private 2269 in 5th Battalion, 6th Reinforcement of the Australian Infantry on 21 August 1914. He was 19 years 6 months old and five foot ten inches tall. Son of Emmanuel Comby Laverick and Mary Hannah (nee Harrison).   William Leslie Laverick was born 2 January 1890, Middlesbrough, Yorkshire and was baptised on the 2 February 1890 at St. Paul's, Middlesbrough, Yorkshire. Eustace Gilbert Bowhay Eustace Gilbert Bowhay was the son of Albert Bowhay and Edith (formerly Woodd) born in 1889 in Gunnislake, Calstock, Cornwall. He was a Captain in the Devonshire Regiment and died aged 26 (unmarried) on 8 Mar 1916 in Mesopotamia.
