Family Historian and the Howes One-Name Study

Posted 2 December 2022 by Julie Goucher

Genealogists who use the software, Family Historian and subscribe to the software’s newsletter, Family Historian Bulletin will likely to have spotted the mentioning of the presentation by Guild member, Paul Howes on why he uses Family Historian. The presentation was delivered as part of the Seminar series Family History Software for your One-Name Study in January 2022. Below is the extract from the December issue of the Family Historian Bulletin:

“The Guild of One-Name Studies YouTube channel includes Why I Use Family Historian by Paul Howes. It’s over an hour long but also has some useful stuff in it. If you are thinking of using Family Historian’s File Merge/Compare feature, the demonstration of it, which starts at 46 minutes in, is worth watching (drag the time-slider on the video if you want to jump straight to that bit). He demonstrates merging with a file containing over 190,000 individuals.”

In September 2022, Paul gave a presentation to the Guild’s webinar series, Howes One-Name Study – Don’t be put off by the Size! which has, according to Paul’s latest newsletter, just topped 202,000, which is very impressive and inspirational.

If you have any Howes, Howse, or House ancestors, Paul would love to hear from you, so please do let him know by contacting him via one of the links below:
