The Guild’s August 2014 seminar was on the subject of Medieval & Early Modern Records.  The Guild visited Yorkshire to discover records from 1274, including Manorial Records, York Archbishopric Cause Papers and Early Immigrant papers, some newly indexed, providing the potential to extend knowledge of early surname distribution throughout the country.

This seminar covered a number of interesting areas, from old newspapers to libraries and a few really unusual items we believed would be new for your One-Name Study.

As announced in the January 2014 issue of the Journal, the Guild’s World War 1 Centenary Website is now live! [note: now integrated with the Guild website].
