William George Hagger – Killed on 15 June 1918 age 33, buried in the Granezza British Cemetery, Italy. Sergeant in the Royal Field Artillery and awarded the Military Medal.

Born in 1884 in Lambeth to William George Hagger and Rose (nee Halsey).  At the time of the 1891 census he was living in the Parish of Bromley with his parents and siblings Ellen Elizabeth, Frederick Joseph and Rose Florence. By 1901 they had been joined by more children Albert Edward, Maud Lilian and Ernest Frank and William George was by now a baker.  William George married in 1909 to Lilian Amelia Mackeridge and in 1911 they were living in Poplar where they had married, William was now shown as a Labourer and they had a son William George R born in 1910.  By the time William George left for war he and Lilian had had two more children Herbert A and Percy Alfred.  Having been left a widow Lilian remarried in 1929 to George Thomas Welsh.
