Arthur Hagger – died in France 27th March 1918 Buried in the Crucifix Corner Cemetery, Villers-bretonneux, France. Commemorated on Clock Tower War memorial, Coalville, Leicestershire.

Born 1897 in Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire the son of Arthur Hagger and Agnes Priscilla (nee Sharp). His Grandparent were Samuel Preston Hagger and Elizabeth (nee Pratt), we can trace his ancestry back to John Preston and Elizabeth Hagger (his Great Great Grandparents), there is no evidence that John and Elizabeth ever married and their descendants used both the surname Preston and Hagger or a mixture of the two names. Their children baptised at Therfield, Hertfordshire.
In the 1911 census Arthur was living with his parents and ten siblings at Coalville, Leicestershire and he was shown as a shop assistant.
