James Oliver Drake

James Oliver Drake was born in 1898 in Weymouth, Dorset, the older son of James and Blanche (formerly Oliver). James was a Private with the 1st Battalion of the King's Liverpool Regiment, and died 16 Apr 1918. Killed in action 23 Jul1917, Flanders, France. Commerated at Ypres - Menin Gate Memorial and Therfield War Memorial in St Mary's Church.  Awarded Victory and British War medals. Cecil was the fourth of five sons of Robert Drake and Martha (formerly Martha Cook), and he was born Morcott, Rutland (his birth was registered 1896 2nd Quarter in Uppingham).
