The Oxfordshire Family History Fair is this Saturday,  26th October 2024.

This year it is at a new venue, a couple of miles north of the centre of Oxford, at Cherwell School (North), Marston Ferry Road, Oxford OX2 7EE.

Open from 10am to 4pm, Free Entry, Free Parking, All Welcome! Refreshments are provided by Good Food Catering who are praised each year by many of the visitors for the quality and variety of their food. Food will be available until around 3.15pm.

What can you expect to see at the Fair? A variety of Family History and Local History Societies providing information and selling books and other goods related to their respective areas. There will also be some specialised stalls such as:

Military history; Old postcards of areas you may have a family link to; Specialised genealogy goods; Vintage Maps showing the landscapes of your ancestors, Local history publications etc. The Society has a hall dedicated to Oxfordshire records, including Wills. Advice is also available to try to help break down your brick walls with your Oxfordshire ancestors, and Oxfordshire History Centre will also be attending and happy to discuss their resources.

For further information on organisations attending this year, CLICK HERE.

For those who are interested in surnames, there will be the Guild Stand there, so do pop along and chat to the team.
