My 3rd Great Grandmother was Sarah Wye who figures with her grandchildren in the painting by Adam Buck.
I beleive she was descended from the Wyes of Lyppiatt Park in Gloucester.
Whie Wie
Wyes are found in 3 main locations, Gloucester, Kent and St Neots area in both Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire, with a later branch in Godlming in Surrey. However they are well travelled and for 200 years a branch lived and worked in Oporto Portugal as Port Wine Exporters living on the Rua-dos-Nova-Inglezes
The Wyes also lived in India.
