About the study

The aim of the ORWIN one-name study is to collect family history data and share this with others researching this surname.

The study was started in 2024.

Initially my research will be focused on UK records but may stray further afield as I document my data.

The aims are to:-

• Collect available data about all instances of the surname ORWIN, past and present.
• Construct family trees, and hopefully merge these into one large tree
• Make the data available to genealogists and family historians researching their ORWIN ancestors.
• Exchange information with other researchers of the surname.

Earliest known ancestor

JOHN ORWIN born 1723 (My 5 x GGF). Had at least 2 sons.  His son John was baptised in Newcastle Upon Tyne 1743.
