The surname GLASPER, is frequently confused in official records with CLASPER. Also, often interchangeable in Scotland with the surname GILLESPIE.
No attempt has been made to follow those surnames.
The surname GLASPER seems to originate in the north-east of England. The earliest individual;s appear to have been of peasant stock, farming the land.
Eventually they migrated to the iron and coal-mining industries and into the larger towns of the northeast of England. Now the surname is widely dispersed and into Australia, Canada and the United States of America
A 'work-in-progress'.
