The creation of the website is underway and planned to be launched before the end of 2020!

The Enderby name originates predominantly from Lincolnshire and Leicestershire in the United Kingdom.  It is believed to be a locational name based on a place (or places) called Enderby.  More information will be available found on the Enderby website when it is launched.

Most Enderbys were farmers or agricultural labourers.  However, a few rose to prominence such as:

• Samuel Enderby who founded the company 'Samuel Enderby & Sons', a prominent shipping, whaling, and sealing company in the 18th century
• Percy Enderbie who was a 17th century historian and author of the book 'Cambria Triumphans'
• Walter Enderby who was the Sheriff of Cornwall for the 7th and 9th years of the reign of Henry VII
• Richard Enderby who was the Sheriff of Bedford and Buckinghamshire for 20th year of the reign of Edward IV

Enderby is an uncommon name (Forebears.io rank it at 296416th in the world) and there are currently about 1000 living people with the name.  The 1851 UK census recorded 254 Enderbys in the United Kingdom with over 80% living in Lincolnshire.  More information will be available on the Enderby website when it is launched.
