About the study
I became interested the Corbishley surname, (my husband's family) over 20 years ago when I realized how localized it is. In the early censuses is it confined almost exclusively to the counties of Cheshire, Lancashire and Staffordshire.
The ultimate aim of the study is to find a common source for the name which I believe to be a place not a person.
