Our June webinar, In completing a One Name Study, considered that you may wish to include distant cousins in the United States. In this session, Denys Allen will gave a suggested approach of sources to use based on when immigration occurred to America.

What will people learn? What problems/difficulties might it help with? Immigration from the United Kingdom to the United States will be broken down into three time periods: Pre-1776, 1776-1861, and 1861-1922.  Each time has different immigration records and a different level of government in control of record-keeping.
