The Bazzoni surname study aims to research all occurrences of the last name Bazzoni and its variants world-wide. The creation of the one-name study grew out of my own family history research which began with a school project in the 1970s.

Nearly all of the UK Bazzoni's are descended from a Joseph Bazzoni who married an Elizabeth Davies in London in 1814. Around the same time there were three other Bazzoni's - Dominick, Anthony and Lewis. To date, I have been unable to verify if these four were related or not.

Lewis appears to have initially lived and worked in Scotland before emigrating to the US where he married Elender Ogen in New York in 1811.

My objectives are:

• Collect data about past and present Bazzoni's and variants.
• Identify and document family trees.
• Make data available to others researching their Bazzoni ancestry.
• Analyse accumulated data to establish links and origins of the names.
