Guild Webinar – Behind the scenes of a One-Name Gathering: How, What & Why Posted 6 July 2024 by Julie GoucherCopyright – Karen Rogers The webinar for July is from Karen Rogers of the Liddiard Society & One-Name Study. Here is what Karen says: “At a presentation given to the Aldbourne Heritage Centre Group about the Liddiard’s in 2013, I made a throw away remark “its about time we got some Liddiard’s back in this village” Rumours then spread then a Liddiard family reunion was going to happen. In 2016 the first Liddiard gathering event was held, in which over 200 attended, not an easy feat from Australia. You can read an article from BBC Wiltshire HERE About the speaker Karen has been a Guild member since 2003 and a regional representative from 2006 and has been researching the Liddiard’s (and variants all 27 of them) for nearly 40 years. She is also the chair of the Liddiard Family History Society, and Vice Chairman of the Guild of One-Name Studies.
