Guild Education

On this page you’ll find a number of ways the Guild can help you learn more about genealogy and one-name studies. Many of these resources, including our popular and interesting seminars, are available for everyone; others are restricted to Guild members only. If you’re not currently a member, why not join us?

Available to Everyone

Seminars

The Guild runs regular high-quality seminars in the UK on a wide variety of topics. Non-members are very welcome at all our seminars. Guild members who live too far away to attend a seminar can watch recordings of many of the talks online.

Webinars

The Guild has run several webinars in the past and more are planned for this year. Introductory recordings are available to the public, and Guild members logged into the website can access the full series.

Youtube Seminar Recordings

Many Guild seminar recordings are available on YouTube.

Pharos Online Courses

Pharos run a wide range of online training courses for genealogists, and offer two courses specifically aimed at those embarking on or undertaking a one-name study.

Learning About DNA

Many genealogists incorporate DNA in their research. Learn about DNA and how to use DNA testing in your study. Many of the DNA pages in our WiKi are available to non-members.

DNA for Family History

A good place to find out why you might be interested in using DNA with family history.

Annual Conference & AGM

Non-members are welcome to join us at our annual Conference, where you’ll find workshops and have an opportunity to learn from other delegates as well as listen to excellent speakers.
