You can watch the recording by clicking the image below: The Braund Society have just celebrated their 40th anniversary and this seemed the perfect opportunity to congratulate the society. This is the story of a one-name society and its activities. We heard about how the society started, what they have done in the past, what we do now and how we plan to evolve to remain relevant in today’s family history world. There was suggestions that might be applicable to your one-name study, as well as warnings of pitfalls to avoid. There is references relevant to research outside of the UK, as the study has links to Australia, New Zealand, Canada, USA and South Africa. Janet and Chris are long-standing members of the Guild of One-Name Studies and have been involved in the Braund One-Name Society since its inception 40 years ago. Janet is a well-known speaker and is currently the President of the Family History Federation. Chris is the President of the Devon Family History Society and will be familiar to attendees at Guild conferences.
