The Guild organises a number of seminars and conferences every year as part of its remit to advance the education of the public in both one-name studies specifically and in the wider subject of genealogy generally. Both Guild members and non-members are welcome to attend.

Poster Seminar

Got a One-Name Study Problem? - Network a Solution! - London University, Canterbury Hall, Cartwright Gardens, WC1H 9EF
We can all learn from each other. Along the lines of international workshops, each attendee will mount a poster or laptop display or make a mini-presentation, either posing a question or a plea for help, or demonstrating something they feel will be of use to other Guild members.

Guild meeting at AFFHO Congress
17th January 2009
Guild members attending the 12th Australasian Congress on Genealogy and Heraldry to be held in Auckland, New Zealand, 16th - 20th January 2009, will be welcome at the Guild meeting there. This will be held on Saturday 17th January 2009, at 7.00 p.m. David Evans will be presenting a lecture on Tools and Techniques for One-Name Studies at the Congress.

16th May 2009 Researching your Name outside the UK
Guild Non-UK Sources Seminar, Hampsthwaite Hall near Harrogate, Yorkshire.
This seminar will be focussing on the material available outside the UK, with special attention to details sought by people with a one-name study.
8th August 2009 Guild New Members Seminar
Amersham Free Church Hall, Buckinghamshire.
Come and find out what the Guild is all about. Members of the Guild Executive will present a range of talks describing what the the Guild does and what type of study its members are undertaking.
