Guild of One-Name Studies
One-name studies, Genealogy
The Capin study grew out of the Capon research as it became obvious that the Capin spelling was leading back to Wales and tales of hardship and sea journeys.
One evening watching television an interview was conducted in a Scottish graveyard with three clearly visible CAPIN gravestones of the 18th century. Later I found a "dictionary of rare Scottish names" which gave the origin as being from the Appin district.
