The Guild has established a small number of subcommittees for specific areas of the Guild’s activities. These are appointed annually by the Guild Committee, and the Guild’s Constitution requires that the Chairman and the Treasurer shall be members of each subcommittee. There is currently one active subcommittee which is SemSub.
The management of the Guild was assisted by the Executive. The Executive was responsible for the overall financial position and policies of the Guild, including the designation of Guild Signatories. The Executive comprises the Officers – i.e. the Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, and Treasurer – and three other Committee members elected annually by the Committee. The Exec was disbanded in 2014 and the Committee decided collectively that for more comprehensive governance that the entire Committee would consider matters that had been historically addressed by the Exec.
The Seminar subcommittee is responsible for organising seminars to educate the public in one-name studies.
The Guild welcomes any members who would like to contribute to the running of the Guild through the Committee or subcommittees.
